The maximum thickness of nickel felts can vary depending on several factors including the manufacturing process, application requirements, and specific product design. However, typical nickel felts can range in thickness from very thin (like a few microns) to several millimeters. Here are some general considerations regarding thickness:

  • Thin Nickel Felts:Some nickel felts can be extremely thin, even as thin as a few microns (micrometers). These thin felts are often used in applications where high surface area, flexibility, and fine filtration are required.

  • Medium Thickness Nickel Felts:Nickel felts with thicknesses in the range of 0.1 mm to 2 mm are common. These are used in various industrial applications including battery electrodes, catalyst supports, filtration media, and as conductive materials.

  • Thicker Nickel Felts:For more structural or robust applications, nickel felts can be thicker, ranging from 2 mm to several millimeters. These thicker felts might be used in applications requiring higher mechanical strength, heat resistance, or where structural integrity is crucial.

  • Specialty Thick Nickel Felts:In some specialized applications, thicker nickel felts exceeding several millimeters in thickness may be used. These could include applications in aerospace, high-temperature insulation, or as parts of industrial equipment where durability and specific thermal or electrical properties are required.
