Features

Applications

Copper foam is a new functional material which is mainly used in the following fields:
(1) Electrode material. Due to its excellent conductivity, copper foam can be widely used as electrode skeleton material for new batteries such as nickel-zinc batteries and double-layer capacitors. Copper foam has been tried by many manufacturers of nickel-zinc batteries and put into mass use. Meanwhile, copper foam is expected to be widely used as electrode fluid collector for double-layer capacitors. In addition, the use of copper foam as electrode material for electrolytic recovery of copper wastewater also has a very broad prospect.
(2) Catalyst. In many organic chemical reactions, people try to directly use copper foam with large specific surface area instead of punched copper plate as chemical reaction catalyst. Copper foam as a photocatalytic air purification carrier has also been successfully applied.
(3) thermal conductivity materials. Copper foam has excellent thermal conductivity, making it a flame retardant material with excellent performance, which has been applied in many advanced fire fighting equipment abroad, especially as a flame isolation equipment with excellent effect; In addition, people use the excellent thermal conductivity and apparent permeability of copper foam to make heat dissipation materials for motors and electrical appliances.
(4) muffling and shielding materials. Sound wave diffused reflection occurs on the surface of copper foam, and the effect of sound attenuation is achieved through the principles of expansion and microhole sound attenuation. The shielding property of copper is close to that of silver, and it is an excellent electromagnetic shielding material.
(5) Filter material. Copper foam products, which have excellent structural characteristics and are basically harmless to the human body, have also been successfully applied as medical filtration materials.
